I teach all gentle classes with a focus on healing the body, releasing stress, using the breath, practicing mindfulness and stretching the body with specific postures. My classes are slow paced, protect the joints, and available for all levels of experience. Specifically, I focus on working with people who have physical injuries or are experiencing emotional trauma.

Current Classes:

Slow & Gentle (In Studio)
A fun, easy going class to gently stretch your muscles with a variety of poses and props. Pace is slow and modifications for all body types are always offered. It is a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing practice. Open to all levels. I minimize the strain on joints by grouping the poses by seated, supine, prone and standing.

Stretch & Relax (In Studio | Zoom)
A series of deep stretch Yin poses which last several minutes followed by several Restorative poses.
Yin yoga is a deep stretch of the connective tissues, the fascia, and can be intense. You will feel slightly uncomfortable. It is a quiet and simple practice, but not an easy practice which works deeply into the body, targeting the connective tissues — ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body — rather than the muscles. It has amazing health benefits such as stimulating anti-inflammatory enzymes and the production of collagen and other fluids that dry up with age.

Restorative yoga is a practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. In a typical class, you will hardly move at all, doing just a few postures in the course of an hour, all supported by props to allow the body to rest and release tension.. It is a completely different experience than most contemporary yoga . Accessible to anyone regardless of physical condition, you ‘rest’ comfortably in poses for several minutes to releasing stress and calming your mind. It is like going to a spa…I guarantee you will feel amazing afterwards!

Stretch/Flex (Aquatic)
This class uses the resistance of the water to increase muscle tone, strength and flexibility all while protecting your joints from injury. Studies show that we begin to lose our flexibility as early as the age of 35. Flexibility is what allows our bodies to move properly and functionally. If you are recovering from an injury, suffer from arthritis or just are stiff and tight, this class will work wonders! Incorporating elements of yoga, ballet, belly dancing, physical therapy and strength training, you will slowly move all major joints using the resistance of the water to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
